Golkar Party will study Gayus Tambunan’s statement and file a lawsuit against Denny Indrayana for having smeared the party’s main executive Aburizal Bakrie, Bambang Soesatyo said."Golkar will conduct a study to later file a lawsuit against Denny with regard to his attempt to discredit, if indeed what Gayus has said about directives towards Bakrie’s (implication in the case) was correct," the legislator from Golkar Party said after attending a meeting of the House of Representatives’ Monitoring Team for Century Bank case here on Wednesday.
Regarding other part of Gayus’s statement that the task force for eradication of judicial mafia had promised security and comfort for the former taxman if he would help uncover the tax mafia Bambang said it had to be checked. "How could it give promises. Let us check if it could be categorized as gratification," he said.
Regarding Gayus’s statement about the involvement of John Jerome Grice who Gayus said as a US CIA agent whose involvement in the case is known and endorsed by the task force Bambang said it was possible for it to happen in view of the tax cases Gayus had handled that include those of US companies includig Chevron.
Denny who is the task force’s secretary denied he had engineered the alleged tax mafia case that involved Gayus. "Basically we have information, data on talks with Gayus which show that what he has conveyed is not true," he said.
Gayus had been sentenced to seven years in jail after for corruption and fined Rp300 million.
