The secretary of the Task Force for Eradication of Judicial Mafia, Denny Indrayana, once talked with Gayus Tambunan about "avoiding" summons. The task force disclosed this through a transcript it distributed to newsmen at a press conference here on Wednesday which was also attended by Denny.According to the transcript the two met at the office of the president’s special staff for legal affairs, human rights and eradication of corruption, collusion and nepotism. The office is located in Bina Graha, a building in the presidential office compound.
The talks on March 24, 2010 also involved Rony. During the talks Denny suggested that Gayus should not talk to the media first and also offered protection and legal aid from several lawyers.
Denny said the task force, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and the LPSK (witness protection agency) would sit. No explanation was given with regard to the use of the term "sit".
Denny also touched on the issue of summons. "Soon after knowing about the summons, the first and second we can still avoid. We meet first. What I mean is to arrange steps," Denny said.
During the press conference the task force also distributed the transcript of other talks between Denny and Gayus through a Blackberry Messenger service. Denny in the conference declined to explain the context in which the sentence he had said especially the term "ngeles" (to avoid summons) was used.
He also declined to explain the term "summons" whether it came from the police or others. Denny earlier explained a lot about the talks with Gayus through Blackberry Messenger about Denny’s unawareness of Gayus’ whereabouts.
Until the end of the conference Denny would not explain about the term "avoiding" the summons despite the insistence of newsmen. Gayus had been sentenced to seven years in jail on Wednesday for corruption. After the session Gayus made a statement at the court room that the task force knew the investigation that led to his conviction.
