Sekretaris Kabinet Dipo Alam mengkritik dua media televisi dan satu media cetak yang dikatakan tak melakukan pemberitaan secara terukur, yaitu TV One, Metro TV, dan Media Indonesia.Kedua televisi swasta yang dimiliki politisi tersebut dikatakan terus-menerus menjelekkan pemerintah. TV One adalah kepunyaan Ketua Umum Partai Golkar Aburizal Bakrie. Sementara harian Media Indonesia dan Metro TV adalah milik politisi Partai Golkar yang saat ini gencar membangun organisasi Nasional Demokrat, Surya Paloh.
Menurut Dipo, selain kerap menayangkan adegan kekerasan berulang-ulang, kedua stasiun televisi ini kerap menayangkan pemberitaan tak berimbang. Contohnya ketika Presiden Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono melakukan kunjungan kerja di Kupang, Nusa Tenggara Timur, awal Februari 2011.
Saat itu, klaim Dipo, ada segelintir orang yang menggelar demonstrasi. Namun, kedua stasiun televisi tersebut memberitakan bahwa rakyat NTT menolak kehadiran Presiden. "Ini beritanya sudah mendekati kebohongan," katanya kepada para wartawan di Istana Kepresidenan Bogor, Jawa Barat, Selasa (22/2/2011).
"Saya mengikuti perjalanan SBY ke NTT. Pendemo cuma segelintir. Bandingkan dengan yang menyambut Presiden dari Kupang sampai Atambua," katanya.
Dipo juga meminta masyarakat tak menonton televisi yang hanya menyebarkan kebohongan.
Sebelumnya, Dipo mengancam media yang selalu mengkritik pemerintah tak akan mendapat iklan dari institusi pemerintah. Dipo akan meminta sekretaris jenderal dan humas-humas lembaga negara tak memasang iklan di media bersangkutan.
Selain itu, media yang rajin mengkritik tersebut juga diancam tak akan diberi informasi. "Pokoknya, saya katakan, kalau mereka (media) tiap menit menjelekkan terus, tidak usah pasang (iklan). Saya akan hadapi itu. Toh, yang punya uang itu pemerintah. Enggak usah pasang iklan di situ dan sekarang orang yang diwawancara saat prime time tidak usah datang," tutur Dipo.
