President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Vice President Boediono on Friday morning at the Presidential Office in Jakarta made public their wealth which is required of them as government officials. Flanked by acting chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Tumpak Hatorangan Pangabean, President Yudhoyono first presented a summary of his wealth which on November 23, 2009 reached a total of Rp7,616,270,204 plus 269,703 US dollars, which were an increase compared with an earlier report on May 14, 2009, totaling Rp6,848,049,611 plus 246,389 dollars.

The President said his wealth included real property land and buildings Rp2,408,620,000, movable property and means of transportation Rp502,500,000, precious metal, precious stones, art objects and antiques, and other movable property Rp851,015,000. "No securities, but demand deposits the equivalent of Rp3,854,135,204. No debts," he said.

Meanwhile, Vice President Boediono said in a summary of his wealth by September 30, 2009 amounted to Rp28,082,373,823 plus 16,000 US dollars, an increase compared to those in an earlier report on April 30, 2009 amounting to Rp22,067,815,019 plus 15,000 dollars. The wealth consisted of real property Rp6,415,320,000, movable property and means of transportation Rp904,200,000, and other movable assets Rp183,073,429, securities Rp3,700,000,000, demand deposits equivalent Rp16,843,780,394 plus 16,000 dollars.

"All the related tax had already been paid," Boediono said. Before making public his wealth, the President said that a program like this is very important and is a good political tradition and government officials, including governors, regents and mayors are expected to follow suit.
