Indonesia to Issue US$18.5 Bn Bonds in 2010

The Indonesian government will require State Budget of Rp 233 trillion (US$24.6 billion) in 2010.

Director General of Debt Management at the Ministry of Finance Rahmat Waluyanto said additional debt and loan would be from the gross bond issuance by Rp 175.061 trillion, program loan Rp 24.443 trillion, project loan Rp 33.132 trillion, and domestic financing Rp 1 trillion.

"More debts are aimed at covering next year's financing, which would likely reach Rp 236.129 trillion," said Rahmat on Tuesday, Dec 15.

Only then that the government would offset the remainder of next year's financing needs by a treasury of Rp 2.462 trillion.

Rahmat said the government would take domestic financing to the fullest to realize plan.

"The point is that we'll minimize the costs and risks taking into account sustainable budget financing," he said.

The government will continue diversify debt by issuing state bonds either with fixed or variable rate loan.( VIVAnews )
