Finance Minister Sri Mulyani and Bank Indonesia Governor cannot solely be held responsible of the the Bank Century bail-out.A finance ministerial adviser Chatib Basri claimed the measure to rescue Century was due and should not be questioned.
Basri reminded how Indonesia was in need of international assistance for building the nation. "I have a simple question. What if a similar case would occur in the future and no one would take any decision due to possible rights to inquiry?" he stressed on Wednesday, Dec 16.
In the last two months, any sign indicating that investors have lost their trust due to the Century case have yet to appear. However, they are beginning to query on the case.
As reported, around Rp 300 trillion of foreign fund is saved in the state bonds. "This is not only about Sri Mulyani and Boediono. It is concerned with the stability of the financial sector," he said.
He believes investors are thinking of leaving Indonesia. Without any blanket guarantee, foreign country would be a better choice for them.(VIVANews)
