Two Indonesian High Officials Give Up Office

JAKARTA LIFE'S STYLE

The alleged violation of authority case involving non-active Indonesian anti-graft commission Chandra Hamzah and Bibit Samad Riyanto is still accentuated by the media. Following a tapped record played before the judges of the Constitutional Court, today two high officials of the Indonesian Police and Attorney General's Office (AGO) signed off of their offices.

Deputy Attorney General AH Ritonga resigned this morning while on the same day Chief of the Indonesian Police Crime and Investigation Division Comm. Gen. Susno Duaji gave up his office.

The withdrawal of Susno Duaji was announced by Chief of the Indonesian Police General Bambang Hendarso Danuri in Jakarta on November 5.

"We've explained everything. Today he will declare his resignation," said Bambang.

It was reported earlier that the names Susno and Ritonga were heard several times mentioned in the phone conversation record involving tycoon Anggodo Widjojo and some individuals. Anggodo's brother Anggoro Widjojo is now listed as fugitive by the Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission due to radio communication system case.
